Our Stay at the Isle of Capri

Last Friday we (Kevin, Brooke, Brad, and me!) drove in to Lake Charles for Debbie and Karl's (sister-in-law and brother) Mardi Gras Ball.  One of their friends gave us a one night stay at the Isle of Capri Tower.  That's right....free!!!

These cage lights were hanging in the lobby.  I think they have "DIY" all over them!!!

I liked the rustic look of the furniture.

The side tables looked as though they would be easy to recreate with a couple of railroad ties and metal banding.

I thought this lighting was different and an easy to do it yourselfer.

There were beautiful Mardi Gras decorations.

The designer was very creative in the lighting they chose.  How often do you see an oil rig with a light bulb on top?

They used moulding and wall paper to "dress up" the area.

Our room was very big.  There was more than enough space for all four of us.

The bathroom was rather large, too.

This tub was HUGE!!!  The photo does not do it justice.

After dropping off our luggage, we headed to the casino area.

This was my first time at the Isle of Capri.  I did not realize they no longer take the boats out on the water.  They are permanently docked and apparently have been for years (who knew?).

There were lots of pretty Mardi Gras costumes on display.

You can't have Mardi Gras without a couple of trees!

These plumes are beautiful.  I wanted to capture this look....maybe I can recreate it next Christmas!

I love the large purple and gold fleur de lis.

More costumes.....

This is the outside area of the boat.

A view of the Calcasieu River.

We had a great time.  I will have pictures of the fun we had at the ball in tomorrow's post!

Take care,

Debbie
