Fun Fall Bucket List

I have to tell you I was so excited when I saw the Fun Fall Bucket List that Kierste posted on her blog SIMPLY + KIERSTE.  It is adorable!!!  I have already framed a copy for my kitchen counter.  I want it front and center so I can remember to check off the many fun things Kierste listed.  In fact, if you look closely you will see that I have already checked off three things:

rake leaves
decorate
tailgate

Here's the link so you can go by and print one for you and your family.

Take care and happy fall!!!

A Little More Painting

Lately I have been keeping the hubs really busy spray painting/updating a few things around the house.  I say "him" because he claims he spray paints better than me.  Fine by me!!!

One day I mentioned to him that we really needed to spray paint the pathway lights.  He gave me that look.  You know the one I'm talking about....like I'm crazy.  Yeah...that's it.  Well obviously I was persistent because the lights are now painted and he doesn't remember not wanting to paint them.

The lights are so faded so bad they blend in with the dirt.

So....he removed the tops of the lights and we he spray painted them Hammered Copper by Rust-oleum.  I think they turned out really nice.

For the first few, we placed paper around the posts....the others we just spray painted them.  It didn't matter because we had the beds cleaned out and mulched a week later.

Don't they look pretty now?  All we need to do is plant a few flowers here and there.  I say a few because I want to plant Pansies in November.  They are my FAVORITE flowers of all.

After we he painted the lights he painted the hanging candle holder from the patio.  I don't have a before photo but it was all faded and sad looking.

Here it is with a shiny new coat.  It looks really good.  I think the hubs did a great job, don't you?

I have to share a funny story that happened last night.  I am still laughing.

The hubs and I were walking around the neighborhood and we were making our third trip around when a truck was coming up from behind.  There were a few cars in the street so I decided to go up on the sidewalk and he stayed on the street.

Before I go on, let me tell you that there are two things I really dislike....lizards and tree roaches.  If you happen to hear me scream you know I've encountered one or the other.  No kidding!  And we have a lot of lizards in our yard, especially the backyard.

So as I am walking on the sidewalk I see a large tree roach.  Yeah....it was right there by my foot.  So I check it out and it looks like it is going away from me so I continue to walk forward....watching it all the while the truck is getting close.  Well the roach decides to go in front of me and I start screaming!  I am lifting my foot high into the air so he doesn't get on me....dipping and a diving.  The hubs was so embarrassed.  Of course, the red truck turned in the driveway across from us.  The hubs had that look on his face like I can't believe you just did that.  You know that look.  I am sure your husband has given you that look once or twice before.  He said I looked like I was acting crazy like he was going to hit me with the truck.  Now please, I was up on the sidewalk, no where near the street.  I wish someone would have gotten it on video.  My leg was pretty high trying to get away from that roach.  YUCK!!!!

I am still laughing.  I guess you had to be there....

Take care,

Fall Has Arrived

Fall has arrived at our home.  Most all of our decorations for Fall are outside.  The reason being is I will be decorating the inside for Christmas I am so excited!!! in a couple of weeks.  We have a few yard signs and pumpkins that I will put out as it gets closer to Halloween.

I have had this wreath for at least five years.  Every year I add a little something to it to change it up.

I love this sign.  I probably bought it at Hobby Lobby several years ago.  I've had it for a while.

The view looking out of my office window was a blank brick wall and it was driving me crazy.  I just knew it needed something to "dress it up".  I came across this metal decor (on sale) at Hobby Lobby for $29.99.   I really wanted something a little "beefier" but this will do for now.  I think it looks really good.  I enjoy looking at it.  :)  Of course the hubs thought I was crazy, but as usual, he likes it now.  He is probably tired of hearing me talk about it.

I also picked up this metal flower at Hobby Lobby.  I like the way it gives more of a 3-D look to this area along with the burst of color.

I planted some flowers in the pots around the pool and also added them to this basket.

Nothing new here....just the usual decor....though it does look like fall.

I changed the candles on this candle holder.  They smell like pumpkin.

We added a new plant along side the fireplace.

I love having our table decorated for Fall even though it is only temporary.  It makes me smile every time I walk by.  Even when I have to dust it.  :)

Hope you are having a great week!

Take care,

Our Labor Day Celebration

We were blessed with gorgeous weather on Labor Day.  We  had everyone over for barbecue and a swim party.  The water was a perfect temperature to swim.

I forgot to take photos of what we ate so you'll have to trust me here.  We had grilled chicken, sausage, baked potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans and Texas Toast.  The grandkids used to not eat sweet potatoes but now they love them all dressed up with butter, cinnamon and sugar, and melted marshmallows.  Yum!!!

I just love my newly painted chairs.  They look really nice with the cushions.  I am hoping they last a couple more years.  After all, they are probably about seven years old and have been painted three times.

I think the bench turned out pretty good if I must say so myself!

Look at this little guy.  Can you tell he loves being in the water?  He also loves the freedom he has when wearing the body float.  It is so hard to believe that at the beginning of the summer he was having a hard time balancing his head to he could keep it out of the water.  He  has grown so much.

Don't worry.  His mom was right there on the side of the pool just in case he needed help.  :)

Mr. W loves his sisters so much.

Sweet P tackles jumps in the pool the same way she does gymnastics.  Isn't she adorable?

He's looking at her like what are you doing?

Can you tell how much these two love each other?  They get along so well.

This is how he looks when he is asking me for a Mickey Mouse popsicle.  :0)

We finished the puzzle Brooke and Sweet P had started two weeks earlier at the birthday celebration.

We had a great time with lots of good food.

We are now working on this puzzle.  It has 750 very small pieces.  I thought I wasn't going to work on it but I got sucked in.

It is kind of like the computer....before you know it a couple of hours go by before you realize how long you have been working on it.  Puzzles are so much fun.  Have you worked on one recently?

I have some funny videos I will share with you in my next post.  It is of Mr. W and it is hilarious.  I hope I can get them to work.  You will think our family is totally crazy.  :)  We're not.  We just like to have fun.

I hope you have a happy hump day!!!

Take care,
