I don't know much about wines nor do I drink them often. However, this is my FAVORITE wine to drink. I love this wine. Whenever we go to HEB I like to buy a couple of bottles to have on hand "just in case". :) The problem is I can never remember the names so I end up going up and down each aisle until I find it. Lucky for me it is usually on an end cap. Yesterday I took the time to take a photo with my iphone so next time I can just ask for it. Don't you just love technology?
I have learned so much about these two wines in doing my research so I can tell you about them. I found the following information on www.wine-searcher.com.
Moscato d'Asti is a semi-sweet, lightly sparkling, low-alcohol wine from Piedmont, northwestern Italy. It is made from Moscato grapes that are grown in vineyards near the town of Asti. The classic Moscato d'Asti wine is characterized by elegant floral aromas and notes of peach, apricot and fresh grape juice. It is one of Italy's most famous and most popular wines. Sounds like I need to go to Italy....hint, hint. :)
Moscato d'Asti wines can be consumed as a refreshing apertif, but are well matched with desserts, particularly with the classic panettone, fruit tarts, or with dry pastries made with hazelnuts or almonds.
Do you drink wine? If so, what is your favorite wine?
Reisling's are fabulous, and a great intro into wine-drinking if that's your interest. There are many that range from dry (bitter) to sweet. And I agree about that hint - a trip to Italy is just the ticket! ;)
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment. It sounds like you know way more than I do about wine. In the past, I always seemed to choose the bitter wines. I think I discovered the Moscato d'Asti when we were sampling wine for our daughter's wedding. I tried the Rosso at HEB out of curiosity. Do you have a favorite?
DeleteI'll help you plan your trip to Italy! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI would love for you to share all of your tips and secrets. Mr. K said he wants to wait until 2016. I am going to hold him to it.
