Swimming With Friends

All summer long, when Sweet P was over and swimming, she'd ask me to call Miss J to come over and swim with her.  I would tell her we had to plan ahead so Miss J and her mom could join us for some fun.  So I surprised her and called Nellie and we made arrangements for them to get together on Labor Day weekend.  Needless to say, they were so excited when they found out they were getting together.

The latest thing Sweet P loves to do is balance on top of the float.  I must say she has gotten really good at it.

How cute are they?  It is so hard to believe they are seven years old.

Miss J is into competitive cheer and was showing Sweet P how to do stunts.  Here is Sweet P on Nelly's shoulders.

I picked up Little Caesar's pizza and cheese bread for lunch.

Can you guess what they had for dessert?  If you said a Mickey Mouse Popsicle, you are right!!!

Here they are dancing for us.

It was so nice to get together and visit.  We all had a great time.

Hope you have a great day!!!

Life Lately

Hello and happy Thursday!

Check out the snake the hubs found in the pool on Tuesday evening.  :)  He spotted it in the pool while he was on the phone with a friend.  It's not as big as it appears in the photo.  It was only about 7 to 8 inches long and small.  Thank God I had not gotten in the pool or I would have flipped out!  I was busy removing wall paper.  Yes, I know I asked for it.  What was I thinking?!!!

I finally got around to trimming the ferns in the hanging baskets on the patio.  I've been neglecting the outside while I remove the wallpaper.  I love the way it looks so much healthier when I am done.

Here's a couple of before shots of the second one.

Yes, the other one looked just like it.   I didn't take an after shot but it looks similar to the other one.  Looks like a bad hair do!!!

The kiddos came over for a swim and also for Ashlyn to interview me for Girl Scouts.  I may post the questions and answers for you to read at a later date.

Mr. W is now jumping into the deep end of the pool.  He thinks he is a big boy now.

He does a twist with his body when he is in the air.  Crazy kid.

Sweet P is always so precise with her dives/jumps.  You can tell she is in gymnastics.  Her coaches would be so proud to see her keep her form.

Ms. A tries to make the biggest splashes than anyone else.  She does a good job of getting most everyone wet.

The biggest thing we have to watch him for (besides drowning of course) is keeping him back from jumping on top of his sisters.  He is so excited to jump he has no concept that he can hurt them or himself.

I'd love to visit more with you but this project is waiting for me.  :(  I am determined to finish it today no matter what.

I have some guys here working in the master bathroom and it will take them about six hours to do their job (will share later) so I am literally tied and tethered to being here.  I can't run or hide today.  :)

I don't have much left to remove.  Some of it comes off really easy, some of it comes off in shreds.  I can't complain because it is way easier than the master bathroom wall paper was to remove.

I am saving this area for last.  If it doesn't come off we'll have the contractor float it.  The problem is it is wall paper applied directly to the sheetrock.  You NEVER want to do that.  EVER!!!  Makes it hard to remove.  Always paint your walls to protect them, then apply the wallpaper.  Life will be so much easier down the road.

I am a huge fan of wall paper.  I love wall paper and will continue to use it in our home in the main bath and the kitchen/breakfast room.

Friday Night Fun

The grandkids stayed over on Friday night and Saturday.  We had a really fun time.

I decorated the table using the Mickey Mouse plates and glasses from the Disney Store.  The blue placemats are from Dollar Tree.  Yes, I only paid $1 for each placemat...such a steal and a nice compliment to the plates.  Perfect for outside.

I used the balloon napkin ring holders to hold the napkins in place.  The grandkids were very excited to have a party.  We served them Little Caesar's pepperoni pizza with sweet tea and French vanilla cupcakes with buttercream icing.  Homemade of course!

I love these Mickey Mouse glasses.

Aren't these cupcakes adorable?  I've had the liners and the fun toppers for at least a year or two.

Mr. W loves to have a party!

So do these two!

The trick of the day was to see if you could stand on the floats, do splits or flip each other over.

This was a surprise to see Mr. W on a float.  Just a few weeks ago I tried to get him to float and he would have nothing to do with it.  It's amazing how peer pressure will make you do things you are normally afraid of...he was not going to be left behind!

Do you think he was having any fun?

Sweet P is trying to get her sister to flip her.  She was trying to get everyone to flip her.

After dinner we set up the projector and the screen so we could watch movies outdoors.  We hooked up my laptop to the projector so we could choose movies on Netflix.  For sound, we used our new JBL smaller speakers to have a surround sound.  It was awesome!!!  You could be at the end of the pool (farthest from the projector) and still hear everything.

The kiddos watched Power Rangers for a while before we watched Echo.  After Echo we watched Yours, Mine and Ours.  They had their Mickey Mouse popsicles while floating in the pool.

We roasted marshmallows around the fire pit and made s'mores.  Don't worry the snacks were spaced out over a five hour time frame.  And you know how hungry they get when they swim!

#smoresaresogood

Mr. W was tired so the hubs laid down in bed with him until he fell asleep.  Only the hubs fell asleep with him!  All the while Sweet P is outside waiting for her Paw Paw to come and get her so she can go to bed, too.  We woke him up and he put her to bed.  Ms. A and I finished watching the movie and were done at midnight.  Truth be told, we would have easily watched another movie outside but we didn't want to have to bring all of the stuff in by ourselves.  :)  So the hubs helped us bring everything in and went to bed.  Ms. A and I watched Captain America.  We didn't get to bed until 2:30 a.m.

I love this picture of them sitting on the sofa watching Zootopia.  It's a rare occasion to see them sitting in birth order.  :)

Sweet P put together the Snow White puzzle with a little help from me.  She had it put together in no time at all.  I don't know how she does it.

We had a great time.  But I must say, it was nice and quiet after they went home.  :)

I hope you are having a good week.

Take care,

Our Backyard Movie Theater

Last Saturday afternoon we kept Ms. A and Mr. W while Sweet P went to her gymnastics banquet.  We grilled sliders, turkey patties, sausage and ate outside on the patio.  It was really nice.  The temperature of the water was perfect.

We watched "It Takes Two" and made s'mores.

Mr. W patiently waiting to eat his s'more.

I had more lanterns to put out.  I just forgot to get them before we set up the screen.  :)

We really enjoy watching movies while floating in the pool.

I hadn't seen this movie in a really long time.  It was super cute.

Here's what it looked like after we put everything up and picked up all of the floats.

We had a really good time and are looking forward to the next time!

Hope you are having a good day,
