Last week I met Tiffani and her family at the movies to see Peter Rabbit. It was a Tuesday night and a rather slow night for the theater as we were the only ones in the theater to see Peter Rabbit.
#peterrabbit
Let me start by saying this is a very funny movie. We were all laughing throughout the entire movie. James Corden was the voice of Peter Rabbit and he was hilarious.
So if you are looking for a good hearted movie, something you can sit back and laugh with...this is your movie.
I hope you had a wonderful Easter celebrating the resurrection of our savior Jesus Christ. Hopefully you didn't eat too many sweets! :)
Two weeks ago today, I went to see I Can Only Imagine at the movie theater. The hubs didn't want to go so I went alone, something I am very comfortable doing. I was so excited to hear the story behind one of my favorite songs.
#icanonlyimagine
The seat I chose was right next to a very sweet couple. There were times I was so overcome with emotion I could hardly keep it together. I am quite sure had I not been sitting so close to them I would have balled my eyes out. You know the kind where you are sobbing and finding it hard to catch your breath. I found the movie to be very moving. I highly recommend seeing it.
Yesterday the hubs and I went to see Red Sparrow. Jennifer Lawrence was brilliant. There was nonstop action from the moment the movie started 'til the very end. Nonstop. I have been known to fall asleep (a time or two) in the movies but that didn't happen yesterday. I was engaged immediately to the very end.

The story line was really good. Having said that, it is VERY IMPORTANT you know this is an R-rated movie. VERY R-rated. There are many bloody altercations, steamy sex scenes and lots of nudity. Parents please do not bring your children to this movie. There was a lady and a little girl (probably six years old) sitting in the row in front of us. They stayed about 10 minutes before leaving. In that 10 minutes that precious child was exposed to way more than she should have ever seen.
I have to say this is probably one of the best action movies I have seen in quite a while. Personally, I could have done without so many bloody scenes but the story line is really good. The supporting cast members are all very talented.
I'd love to hear if you've seen Red Sparrow and did you love it or hate it?
Last Friday the hubs and I went to see the movie Greater and we both loved it. It is a true story about Brandon Burlsworth's greatest walk-on in the history of college football. Brandon had always dreamed of playing for the Arkansas Razorbacks, but was considered too short and too fat to play Division I. Undeterred, Brandon took a big risk and walked on in 1994. He showed dogged determination in the face of staggering odds. Brandon was an extremely devoted Christian. He never cursed or drank, was humble and low-key.

This movie will put you in the mood to watch football. I hope you get a chance to see it.
The hubs and I went to see Bad Moms at the movies on Thursday evening. I've been wanting to see it since it hit the theaters on July 29th. Tiffani had seen it and she loved it. She said it was a little crude but really funny. Very relatable if you are a mom.

We laughed so hard throughout the entire movie. The audience laughed REALLY HARD throughout the movie.
The sad thing is this movie is so true. So many moms judge other moms. It's not about being a perfect mom. There is no such thing. All women should embrace and lift up all women. No judging...just supporting. Think how much easier it would be to raise the kiddos. Set a good example for your kids by modeling the very behavior you are asking of them.

The soundtrack is really good. So many good songs.
If you don't mind a little crudeness, head on over to the theater to see Bad Moms. You will be laughing. Just maybe, you will walk out thinking what I thought. How awesome to go and see a movie that makes you laugh.
We had a pretty quiet weekend if you don't take into consideration all of the thunder, lightning and rain we had. Fortunately it wasn't a lot of rain, just enough to water the plants and the grass and refill the pool. :) I'll take that any day!
Sweet P's gymnastics team had a car wash on Saturday morning to raise funds for their upcoming competitions. It was held in Home Depot's parking lot next to Chic-Fil-A. Thanks to the great people of Pearland they had a huge turn out. They ended up working two hours longer than originally planned due to so many kind people getting their cars washed. I am so proud to live in Pearland. They strongly support the kids in all of their activities.
They had a great set up with lots of kids and parents working beside them.
Look at these little cuties!
We drove through two washing stations and a drying station.
I am moving on to the drying station.
After we had our vehicles washed we went to the movies to see Jason Bourne. It was a very good movie with lots and lots of action. I highly recommend going to see it. The camera people did an amazing job capturing the action.
From there we made a drive out to Brooke and Brad's home they are having built. The clouds were building.
You can see the rain in the far off distance.
On our drive home you could see, off in the distance, where it was raining and where it wasn't. It was really cool looking.
I hope you had a good weekend. Can you believe it is August 1st? OMG!!! Where has the time gone? I can't believe I will be decorating for Christmas in 2 1/2 months! When do you start decorating your home for the holidays? Do you decorate early or are you a last minute decorator?
Happy Monday my sweet friends! I hope you had a good weekend doing the things you love with the people you love.
We had a wonderful time at Kickapoo Kamp and I have a lot of photos to share with you. I'll do that tomorrow.
I hadn't planned to do a post today as I have been really busy doing consulting work. But...the hubs convinced me to watch a movie with him. The 5th Quarter. Have you heard of it? I hadn't. When we were in Waco last month my brother mentioned how much he loved that movie. He has seen it many, many times but he didn't own the movie. So the hubs told me "we need to order that movie for your brother for his birthday". Okay...we found it on Amazon and ordered one for him and one for us. Isn't that how it usually goes? :) One for me and one for you? We will give it to him next week when we are all in Waco to see Kam play ball.
The movie came in while I was gone and he watched it. He tried his hardest to get me to watch it when I got home on Sunday but I could not keep my eyes open. I think he was a bit disappointed but I knew I would not make it to the end. So we watched it tonight.
It is a very good movie. I cried and I cried and I cried. I am not going to tell you anything about the movie other than it is a true story and a good Christian based movie. #love5thquarter. It is rated PG13.
I'd love to hear about any good movies you may have seen lately.
Today I went to see Miracles from Heaven. I LOVED it!!! I knew from seeing the previews it was a true story about a little girl and a miracle.
I had the foresight to know that I had better not wear makeup to go see this movie. I knew if I did I would look like a hot mess when I walked out!!! I still looked like a hot mess as my face was all red and blotchy but it was so worth it. I laughed and I cried throughout the movie. So did everyone else in the movie theater. Ten minutes into the movie I was already crying. I found it to be very moving and real to life.
I think Jennifer Garner did an amazing job as did the rest of the cast.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend doing the things you love with the people you love.
Last night the hubby and I went to the movies to see Blended. A coworker had seen it this past weekend and highly recommended that we see it. She said her family loved it so much that they plan on buying the movie as soon as it is available for purchase. The hubs was a little leery, thinking this was going to be a "dud". He hadn't liked the last couple of Adam Sandler's movies and thought this one would fall under the same category.
Boy was he wrong. We loved it!!! We laughed nearly the entire movie. I'm talking LAUGH OUT LOUD!!! Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler were great together. The supporting cast was hilarious and the music was awesome. There were moments we were laughing so hard, moments of strong emotion, and other times we were "tearing up". If you are a parent, you will certainly be able to relate to this movie.
You will leave the theater wanting to plan a trip to South Africa!
