| Pearland Little League East wins the 2014 Southwest Region Championship and advances to the Little League Baseball World Series |
This is the second time in the 68-year history of the Little League Baseball World Series that a team from Pearland, Texas, has advanced to South Williamsport, PA. The team that went to the Little League Baseball World Series in 2012 had Don Smith as their coach. Mr. Smith will be returning to the World Series as the team manager. In 2010 he coached his son, Hunter, while his son Presley plays on the team that is World Series-bound in 2014. Pearland East will be the 21st team from Texas to advance to the Little League Baseball World Series.
The Southwest Region Champions will face the New England Region Champions on Friday, August 15, at 8 p.m. at Lamade Stadium. All games at the Little League Baseball World Series will be broadcast on the ESPN family of networks, the Watch ESPN app or ABC.
The 68th Little Baseball World Series begins on Thursday, August 14 in South Williamsport, PA with the Championship Game scheduled for 3 p.m., Sunday, August 24th, airing on ABC.
