Quick and Easy Firestarter

Now that Autumn has arrived some people are getting much cooler weather (we are cooler but not gather around the fire cooler).  ;)   Did you know that Doritos Nacho Cheese chips are a quick and easy way to get a fire started in your fire pit?  That's right.  Earlier this year (when it was cold) we were gathered around the fire pit patiently waiting for the fire to grow so we could roast marshmallows and make S'mores.  The hubs was using a fire starter log and some oak logs and the fire would not take off.  Brooke remembered that she had seen a Pin on Pinterest for Doritos working as a starter for fires.  We just happened to have some on hand so we tried it.

We are all watching the chips catch fire, thinking this isn't going to work.  Honey, those chips caught fire and started the "starter log" burning.  It didn't take much longer after that for the wood to start burning.  Everyone was happy that we had a fire to make S'mores.

So the next time you go camping or just want to hang around the fire pit, grab a bag of Doritos so you can start your fire really fast.

Take care,

Debbie
