New Look For Our Main Bathroom

Today I want to share with you the changes I made in our main bathroom.  I have always loved the shower curtain that was hanging in this bathroom.  However, having said that, I knew I wanted a change.  I wanted drapes that hung from the ceiling to the floor.  I also knew I wanted to change the artwork on this main wall.  In my mind I was thinking I'd go with a large piece of iron.

So I ordered these drapery panels from Home Decorators back in October.  You can find them here.  They came in at the same time I was decorating for Christmas so I never did anything with them.  so unlike me!  I had ordered the panels to go in the family room.  I was going to hang one on each side of the windows...just to frame them, not cover them up.

I kept thinking of how I thought the drapes would look in the bathroom.  So one day I held them up to the wall paper and BAM it was a match!  I knew it would be!!!  I couldn't hang them up fast enough.  I was so excited to see the change.  I also hung up a textured weave shower curtain under the drapes for a different look should I decide to use tie backs.  (Sorry, I forgot to take a pic).

I've been looking here and there for a piece of iron to go on the wall...not finding anything that "wowed" me.

All the while, the hubs office was making a move and he had to bring home his office decor (temporarily).  Need I remind you this was all of my office decor when I was working away from home.  :)  I did a post on his office here.

So I am looking everything over...trying to see if there was something I wanted to change out with the decor in our home.  I looked at this piece and thought this might work but I didn't act on it.  I was still pondering.  I like to do that when I am decorating and it drives the hubs CRAZY!!!  He wants to do it all at once and I don't.  I want to make sure that whatever I buy I really love.  I don't want to have any regrets and I don't want to stumble on something better because I was too lazy to look.

I'm not getting off track here...just keep up with me.  So this past weekend the hubs and I were over at Brooke and Brad's new home (can I say gorgeous!!!) hoping she will let me share pics with you.  The hubs was hanging up wall decor for her while I was washing dishes.  :)  They did ask my opinion every once in a while.  :)  So when we were finished for the day, she showed me a pile of decor she was getting rid of.  She wanted to give me first dibs.  Sweet girl.  A few of the items had originally been mine and some weren't.  (We are always passing home decor around when we get tired of it.)  She had this same pic.  It had hung in her old home's family room.  So I grabbed it thinking I'd try it in the bathroom so I wouldn't be taking the hubs.

Now tell me...doesn't this canvas look like it was made for this wall paper?  It looks even better in person.

I am so happy with the way this bathroom turned out.  I think the drapes make it look luxurious.  And...it only cost me a little over $80.00.  Can you believe that?  I definitely got a lot of wow for my money.

I am looking for new bath mats.  Not sure what I want yet but I'll know it when I see it.

So my question for you today is "what kind of shopper are you?"  Are you a hurry up and buy something to fill a space or are you like me?  A take your time kind of gal looking for that right piece?

I hope you have a fabulous day...you certainly deserve it!!!

Take care,

  1. Those drapes looks so good in there. I agree with not buying until you're sure you have the right piece.
Thanks for sharing at Funtastic Friday.
